I am an amateur photographer.  I love photographing all the different seasons in Central Minnesota where I live.  I enjoy the flexibility of a digital camera versus my old 35 mm camera.  I have always loved taking photos but hated waiting for the pictures and the cost of developing the film.  I love that I can take hundreds of pictures and choose to develop only the ones I truly love.  It allows the opportunity to try things in many ways until you get something you like.

  1. Great photo!! Have a nice weekend!!

  2. I enjoyed looking at your pix. What camera and lens do you use?

    • Thank you. I use a Nikon D3100 with either the 18-55mm lens or the 55-200mm lens. They are the lens that came with my camera. I would like to get some more lens but not sure which to buy yet.

      • I shoot with a canon rebel xsi
I recently bought a prime 50mm 1.8 lens and I am really enjoying it. My dream lens is a 24-70mm but right now saving for a flash.

      • I’ve been researching a lot of different lens. I looked into a lensbaby for macro shots about a year ago but with two daughters in college. Funds have been tight. I looked at the canon rebel at the time I bought my Nikon. It was a toss up at the time of which to purchase because I didn’t know much about photography at the time. I will have to start looking at lenses again with one daughter graduating next month Yeah! Three kids done one to go!

  3. Hello:

I work for Buchanan County, Iowa and we just launched a new web-site (www.buchanancountyiowa.org). I came across this image online and was wondering if we could have permission to use the image on our new site? We think it is a great picture of our former train station.

    Thanks much,

    • Hi James, I don’t know if my first response came through or not because I was on my phone. You are welcome to use the image on your website or in any of the county publications. I may have some other images from our travels that day but I usually choose my favorite to post. Glad you liked the photo. Sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner…On the road. Thanks, Jeanne

  4. Thanks, Jeanne! I would like to give you credit for the photo if you don’t mind your name being listed on our site. If that is okay, please provide your last name.

    • Sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner James. We were out of town. My name is Jeanne Peterson and I am reside just outside the small town of Upsala, Minnesota, population 424.
